Angelus, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2015, 750ml
The "Solar" Masterpiece: Opulence Unleashed
The 2015 Château Angélus is a vintage of pure exuberance. Marking the first vintage produced under the leadership of Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal (alongside her father Hubert), this wine captures the "solar" energy of a warm, perfect growing season.
While Angélus is always rich, the 2015 turns the volume up to eleven. It is a wine of "baroque" complexity—flamboyant, spicy, and incredibly generous. Unlike the more structured 2010 or 2016, the 2015 embraces you immediately with its velvety texture and sweet fruit. It is a wine that smiles at you from the glass.
Tasting Notes
-
Nose: Explosive and exotic. The glass overflows with black cherry jam, blueberry pie, and Indian spices (cardamom, anise). There is a distinct floral note of dried roses and a hint of incense that gives it a mystical quality.
-
Palate: Full-bodied and creamy. The texture is like cashmere—dense but incredibly soft. Flavors of chocolate-covered plums and kirsch dominate, with a finish that brings a surprising kick of fresh mint.
-
Finish: Warm, spicy, and endless.
