96 points Decanter: "The 2009 vintage of DRC Echézeaux is a wine that never shut down. From my earliest tasting of it, the wine has been redolent of sweet mulberry, and black cherry fruit touched with liquorice spice, with the nuance of a mineral and floral edge. Thirteen years after the vintage, the incredible purity of fruit is still the most salient characteristic. There is little evolution here, and for now, the full body, supple tannins, balanced acidity, and imposing length are their own reward. The generous harvest of 24-32 hl/ha was picked on September 18-19, producing 15,589 bottles. (CC)" (02/2023)

96 points Jasper Morris: "A fine even mid red, evolving gently. Some bouquet at the start but it explodes with a very short time in the glass. Sublime intensity, with a really fine cut glass chiselled intensity. The fruit is ripe but the stems reel any potential excess back in, even to the extent of offering a refreshing green note. One of the most complex wines of the day." (06/2019)

94 points Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Échézeaux Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with a deep-pitched bouquet of wild berries and plums mingled with peonies, exotic spices and hints of wood smoke. Full-bodied, deep and complete, with velvety tannins and an enveloping core of fruit, it's sumptuous but serious, with lively acids and a long, resonant finish. This is a concentrated, youthfully muscular Échézeaux that is still a few years away from showing all its cards. (WK)" (09/2021)
